Jeans, Jeans...and more Jeans.

Who would of thunk it? Mom jeans are hot, ripped jeans are back and acid wash just got cool again! No this isn't back to the future or an SNL skit about hideous jeans--it's spring's newest denim trends. Straight from me, to you : ) Just in time for the changing of the seasons, here is your first look at spring denim trends and how best to pull them off.

Ripped:

No it’s not 1995 and for goodness sake please leave the Dr. Martin’s in your high school keepsake box. But yes—ripped jeans have made a comeback. Like most recycled fashion trends, this one looks a bit different this time around. Think, distressed elegance as opposed to grunge and you’ll hit this trend dead on. You can wear them cropped, skinny, baggy and rolled. Pair with gladiator sandals or some pretty ballet flats for some poetic juxtaposition. If you're feeling especially bad ass, pair them with a leather jacket and dare someone to tell you that you don't look fierce ; )

Cuffed:

A nod to almost every style mentioned—cuffing the hem of your jeans is still in! Katie Holmes braved it 3-4 months ago and it’s still hanging on. While there are a couple of ways to do the cuff, my personal favorite is the messy “roll.”

1. Get a pair of straight-leg boyfriend jeans

2. Put them on and pinch the hem tightly around your ankle flapping the excess fabric around the front of your leg

3. Give them one good sized cuff that brings the bottom of the jean to just touching the top of your foot when standing

4. Roll them once more, this time folding only half the hight of the first roll--leaving an exposed hem

High Waist:

Menswear has made quite the comeback this year, and that includes the high waist pant. The key to nailing this look is pairing oversize masculine pieces with more tailored and feminine ones. So if your jeans are riding high, try pairing them with a lacy blouse or a silk shell. The proportion will make your waist look tiny and create legs that go on for days J Also, don't forget to tuck the shirt. When your bottom is that boxy--your top should be sleek and slender.

Wide Leg:

Hey all you ladies who whined and complained that skinny jeans made you look like a mushroom and refused to follow the trend…I’ve got some news for you! Tell skinny jeans to kiss your ace because wide leg jeans are on the scene. This universally flattering trend fits easy through the thighs, creating a straight line that will have you looking more like a celery stick than a mushroom. Note to self: make sure to buy them extra long so you can pair them with a high heel—flats will have you going from frumpy to dumpy in a quick minute.

Light Wash:

Yes, we are traveling back in time yet again. Let’s be honest, Indigo is a bit passé—boring at the very least. And although you haven’t worn them in a while, you have to admit that there is something fresh and summery about a pale washed pair of jeans. I will say I like this look best in a ultra skinny jean with a white men’s button down and a pair of sky high heels—hot pink if you dare J Keep the look playful and sexy…remember those Guess girls?
