My blog, yes. Fall, totally. Self expression--definitely. This is the start of many things--all of which I am equally thrilled about. Those who know me best, know that a) I adore fashion b) I subsequently love shopping and c) I am a writer at heart. Therefore, a fashion blog was really a no-brainer ; ) Have you ever noticed that the rat race most of us are running in is really designed to drain us of all creativity and the things we really love? Think about it--how many of us are still entertaining the things that brought us joy as children? No, I'm not talking about Barbie and mud pies (however fun they might have been), I'm talking about make-believe and dreaming and career aspirations that had nothing to do with a corporate ladder. About wearing a Cinderella costume in the middle of April because it wasn't about what people thought, it was about how it made you feel. I'm talking about the days when you were a little more selfish and cared about your thoughts, your feelings and what you wanted--So, it is my desire to reconnect with what i love and who I am that has driven me back to the very essence of these things, a pen and paper--or a keyboard and screen, you get the picture. I hope this is a place where we can all discover a bit more about who we are, what we say through what we wear and who we want to be when we slip into that Diane von Furstenberg dress or march out of the house in those Christian Louboutin peep toes or sling that Chanel tote confidently over one shoulder. If life is a stage than these are our costumes--designed, sewn and purchased with a character in mind. In Fashion Ponderings, I challenge you (and myself) to discover who you are, who you are not and who you are aspiring to be.
Happy Pondering,
